The purpose and mission of the Krio Descendants Union, London Chapter is:
- To promote exclusively charitable purposes for the benefit of the public, principally but not solely the Krio communities in the United Kingdom and Sierra Leone.
- To undertake activities and projects which advance the education of the public in Krio history, heritage, culture and language, including music, arts and crafts, costume and cuisine.
- To improve the welfare of the Krio communities in the United Kingdom and in Sierra Leone as well as Sierra Leoneans and other beneficiaries through the prevention or relief of poverty and ill-health.
- To make grants of financial assistance towards the provision of educational, health and medical facilities in Sierra Leone.
The London Chapter of the Krio Descendants Union (KDU) met for the first time on Saturday, 24th of September 2011. Meetings are often held on the last Saturday of the month.
